Light the Night Walk 2016

The Team at River Run is fund raising and organizing a team in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night ® Walk on October 6, 2016.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night ® Walk funds research to find cures and ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.

Coming together for a common goal, friends, families and co-workers form fund raising walk teams. Millions of consumers also help by donating at retail outlets. Culminating in inspirational and memorable evening walks every fall, participants in nearly 200 communities across North America join together carrying illuminated lanterns to take steps to end cancer.

River Run was able to participate in the event in 2015 and is looking forward to another well attended event on October 6. Want to be involved? If you are interested in donating to this cause or want to start your own walking team, follow this link.

Recently, River Run Computers discovered a phishing attempt that tried to target a distribution email group via email.
As a reminder to all our clients, do not click on email links from people or companies you do not recognize.

The following email came to one of our contact groups and was quickly identified as malware. When further investigated, our Security Team was able to determine that this email linked to a malware website that could cause damage to your system.

6 Benefits to Outsourcing Your IT

As your company grows or expands, so does your need for reliable technology. Without the assistance of a professional IT company, simple projects may not go as expected!

Here are 6 benefits of why outsourcing your IT services will help your business grow!

  1. Profitability: An IT firm can be a key factor in improving your company’s net worth by reducing downtime and making sure your network is up and running.

  2. Decreases a company’s overhead: Outsourcing eliminates the cost of hiring a new employee. (training, health insurance, retirement plans, salary related taxes, etc.)

  3. Allows a company to stay focused: Hiring an IT firm allows you to focus on your area of expertise, while the IT firm can focus on theirs.

  4. Access to high-class IT specialists: Instead of just the knowledge of one person, you gain an entire team of professionals who have made a career out of technology through training, certifications and experience.

  5. Free up internal resources: Allows having someone in your office who is “pretty good” with computers, to concentrate on their specialty as it pertains to your business.

  6. Advanced technologies: Access to innovative technologies allows your company to stay abreast of new industry developments.
