I usually wait to gather annual predictions from thought leaders at the start of Q4, but I have seen so many posts, memes, and laments about wanting 2020 to end that I figured, “Why not leap it?”.
That does not mean that I am giving up on 2020 as we are poised for an epic comeback. We need to focus positively on what is possible and chase it relentlessly.
So here goes! Just call me "Nostra-John-mus"!
A new, X-ray "pill" will be able to detect at least one type of cancer. Odds: 100%
The USA’s first exascale supercomputer (i.e. a quintillion calculations per second), called Aurora, will be operational and will be used to accelerate data analysis for a variety of scientific disciplines. Odds: 100%
5G spectrum auctions to be sold between 2020 to 2021 to accelerate the build-out of a national 5G network. Odds: 100%
5G internet connectivity to be introduced into major Canadian cities between 2020 to 2022. Odds: 80%
China achieves its aim of producing 40 percent of the semiconductors it uses in its manufactured electronics by end of 2020 and 70 percent by 2025. Odds: 80%
Singapore rolls out an Intelligent Driving Circuit that allows people to take driving tests without having an examiner in the car with them. This new circuit — the first in Southeast Asia — is trialed at the Singapore Safety Driving Centre. Odds: 70%
Singapore launches the world’s first air taxi service with the goal of eventually making it a fully autonomous and affordable means of transport for the masses. Odds: 60%

Haptic technology advances to not require physical touch for controls (think Lawnmower Man).
The ability to combat thirst throughout the world will be enhanced with advanced and cost-effective desalination advancements.
