North Shore Center, LLC offers a unique blend of adult and child diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative behavioral health services. Their professional staff, including psychologists, neuropsychologists, social workers, counselors, a nurse practitioner, academic language practitioners, and general and special education teachers, have been serving the community since 1994.

Their practice seeks to foster positive changes in the daily lives of children and adults by providing cutting-edge, top-quality therapy services, ensuring the latest, proven advances in research and treatment techniques. Being a private community practice, North Shore Center wanted to establish a rapport with a local IT partner. River Run supports their mission by providing state-of-the-art world-class services in their community each day and during a time of crisis. 

As a client since 2013, North Shore Center enjoys River Run’s R-Managed IT service, including its four-part support process, a dedicated team approach and network security. When North Shore Center had a major server issue, they naturally turned to River Run, and added R-Backup to protect its business from future data loss and downtime.

 

Need:  Recover Corrupted Data from Servers to get back ‘Up and Running’

When two out of three of their servers crashed in 2017, North Shore Center lost access to all of its data.  “It affected our internal team, our providers who could not log into the system, as well as our billing and medical software,” says Ann Paulus, Office Manager.  “We had to go back to ledgers, paper and pencils until we were able to get back ‘up and running.’ “

 

Solution:  Data Recovery, Backup and New System with Redundancies and Safeguards

River Run controlled and remediated the situation in an effective and efficient manner. They worked with third-party vendors to recover corrupted data, created a new and stable system with proper redundancies and safeguards, and got the company back “up and running” in 10 days, providing world-class service in a time of crisis. “David and the team rebuilt everything and were able to get most of our data,” says Paulus.

“It was like dialling 911, they were in our face as soon as we told them what was going on. They called, emailed and text messaged us regularly,” states Paulus.  “Their communication system is always good, and we can get hold of someone when needed. We use their cell numbers, texts, and notepads on computers.  The only delay was with HP for some parts, but one of our team members was in constant contact with them, tracking the whereabouts of the parts throughout the process,” she adds.

Results:  Increased Productivity, Security, Functionality and Availability; Later - Working Remotely

“Since this happened, we don’t have many issues at all and productivity has increased 100%,” affirms Paulus. Since being able to recover the data in 10 days, North Shore Center added R-Backup to protect from future data losses and downtime. North Shore Center enjoys a Regular Visit Program, where dedicated team members log into their system remotely on a monthly basis to do a checkup. The same dedicated team members also visit the office quarterly. 

“Since this happened, we feel more secure,” says Paulus. “We had an issue with QuickBooks, and River Run resolved the issue in two days. If not for R-Backup, we would not have caught it in time,” says Paulus.

When the COVID epidemic arose, North Shore Center ordered two laptops for Paulus and her Coordinator to mirror their PCs in the office. River Run came to their office to set them up to work remotely. “We are still 100% productive and can connect anytime day or night if need be. It has worked out fabulously,” states Paulus. “With social distancing, we can be safe and River Run came through for us again,” she adds.
